Staples Promotional Products, Overland Park, Kan., will invest up to $9 million and add more than 40 jobs over the next five years, according to the Overland Park Chamber of Commerce.
The promotional products distributor branch of office supply giant Staples told both the Overland Park Chamber of Commerce and Kansas Department of Commerce that it would keep its headquarters in Overland Park for at least the next five years.
“I’m excited that Staples is taking advantage of the strong business environment that we are building in the state,” said Kansas Commerce Secretary Pat George. “They are going to employ Kansans and make a significant capital investment here, which is a great thing for the state’s economy.”
The company, known as American Identity until it was purchased in 2007, currently employs 280 people in its offices and expects to add several dozen jobs by 2018. Staples Promotoional Products operates as a part of Staples Advantage, formerly Corporate Express, based in Farmingham, Mass.
