4 Ways to Market this Autumn

I’ve been doing a bit of “pre-Buyer’s Guide frenzy” cleaning of my computer and I found a few links I saved to mention in my blog. None are fit for a full-length blog, so here they are in list form (as we at PM are wont to do).

1. Why You Should be on Instagram, part 2
AllThingsD reported that Instagram surpassed Twitter on daily users on mobile devices, making Instagram seem that much more appealing (or not).

2. October has More than Breast Cancer Awareness
Tomorrow is the first ever Day of the Girl, an international holiday to celebrate girls, advocate for their rights, and address sexism in the U.S. and abroad. Are your awareness campaign promotional brains in overdrive? They should be.

3. Find a New Sales Strategy
Cold weather and the threat of a bad fourth quarter can bring stale sales. Avoid this by finding a new way to do business. I’ve suggested a theme song before and now I have something equally as strange (but also effective). I watched The Avengers on Monday night and one line of dialogue from the film’s villain Loki really stuck with me: “I am burdened with glorious purpose.” You don’t have to be as literal as going into your next sales call and saying, “I am burdened with the glorious purpose of helping you promote your business.” (Though that would be awesome and attention-grabbing.) What you can do is find a line of dialogue that inspires you to help keep your fourth quarter strong.

4. Learn to Increase Your Memory
A new report by the University of Copenhagen suggests that exercise aids in learning new skills, which is especially helpful for adults. If you have trouble remembering everything from a meeting with a new client, go for a run, a bike ride or do some yoga after you leave. It will help cement the information.
