Ghouls, Miss Piggy, iPhones and Branding

If you are like me and other All Hallow’s Eve enthusiasts then you have already purchased your jumbo-sized bag of candy for trick-or-treaters, furnished your apartment with all things orange, black and bloody and carved a delightfully frightening jack-o-lantern. The second most candy-filled holiday of the year (Valentine’s Day is the first) warrants some spectacularly ghoulish promotions. Look through Promo Marketing‘s August issue for some great Halloween gift ideas. Also, use PM search to look for costumes. A branded pirate costume? Ay, matey!

The end of October also means the release of the new Muppet movie is less than a month away (it opens November 23). Jim Henson’s long-beloved characters are making a comeback and Miss Piggy is making her mark not only on puppet lovers, but fashion lovers as well. Check out her fabulous Lady Gaga/flapper-inspired costume.

If costumes for puppets, Halloween or otherwise do not interest you, you can dress up end-users’ cell phones with fun and original cases instead. Mashable reported on the new instagram phone cases for iPhones, which let phone users customize their cases with pictures of theirs friends, family and favorite things. You can use this idea for your future cell phone campaigns.

Speaking of branding campaigns, I found this interview musician and professional good dresser Dandy Wellington. He not only believes branding is the most important thing in the world, he thinks it is “the essence of every company and everything that we consume.” Do you agree?
