Have You Started Yet?

There’s only one sales day left in this month and just 43 left in the first quarter of 2015. Tick. Tick. Tick. Your success this year is going to be determined by you and by what you do now. Right now.
What are you going to celebrate this year? Do you take a moment every day to visualize your success? Go ahead and dream big, be bold and take the necessary steps. This means that you need to know what success looks like for you. You must get very clear with yourself. See what you want. Allow yourself to imagine clearly what it will feel like when you achieve your goals. What will it sound like? What will you be saying? What will your clients be saying? What will your loved ones be saying? See it. Feel it. Hear it.
If you’re afraid of visualizing your success, you are probably afraid of not reaching your goals. That’s called fear of failure and it’s a self-fulfilling prophecy. You must be willing to fail, to fall, to make mistakes, to be laughed at and to be humiliated. Yes, that too is part of success. When you know where you want to go, it makes getting back up and moving forward easy despite any setbacks.
What are you doing differently this year? The end of January is often a train wreck of broken resolutions. Resolve again today. Make one extra phone call every day. Create a referral program and implement it now. Write five handwritten thank you notes and mail them every week. Choose 10 target accounts and learn everything you can about them. Get to know them so well that you have an idea of what problems that they are facing. Approach new clients with answers to their questions.
This is the year that you put yourself in their shoes and practice the Platinum Rule—communicate with them from their point of view with things that matter most to them. Get started. Now.
