How to Overcome Cultural Misconceptions Through Branding

From The Washington Post, a Sikh man writes about building cultural trust and understanding through branding.

The Washington Post published an interesting article a few months back, offering advice on how immigrant or minority business owners can overcome cultural misconceptions about their backgrounds. The article, written by Manpreet Singh, Sikh-American and president/founder of SevaCall, lays out four branding tactics that Singh uses to combat fear and misunderstanding about his background.

I don’t have any experience dealing with the issues expressed in the article myself, but all the same, I thought the article was incredibly well-written and thought-provoking. If you’re a minority or immigrant business-owner, or maybe just handling the marketing for one, this article might be worth a read:

Monday Mike Fact: My girlfriend and I made fresh pasta for the first time over the weekend. It came out pretty good, but it still kind of seems like magic to me. Even after going through and actually doing the whole process, I still don’t get how eggs and flour turn into pasta.
