Ever since I was a gawky teenager, it was clear that my arms and legs were just going to grow on their own, unhindered by the fact that the rest of me wasn’t exactly catching up. It’s okay. I’ve made peace with my wingspan. However, finding long-sleeve shirts that are actually long enough to compensate for my affliction is quite another story.
It’s not like long-sleeve shirts for mere mortals are THAT much shorter on me, but most hit an awkward point on my arm—not quite three-quarter length, yet still stopping short of my wrist. I’ve obviously put a lot of thought into this.
THE POINT: My editor, Nikki Stella, and I are obsessed with Next Level Apparel’s T-shirts. They’re super-soft, can withstand numerous washings and are just generally flattering. Recently, on a glorious day at ASI Orlando, Anthony, the company’s VP of operations, allowed us to choose something we liked from his selection. I went for the long-sleeve, scoop-neck style, knowing full well that I’d most likely have to wear it with the sleeves pushed up, per usual. (It’s my secret tactic so I don’t look like I accidentally raided a seventh-grader’s closet). Lo and behold, the sleeves are the perfect length—even for me. So kudos to NLA for a great, well-cut selection. Two very enthusiastic thumbs up.
