Plyter’s Product of the Week–December 29th Edition

Even though it is the middle of winter here in Philadelphia and a 50 mph wind is sending the windchill into single digits, I have to make the Cooladio Solar Cooler my first Product of the Week. I will admit quite a few USB drives caught my eye, but the Cooladio came out on top this time.

The insulated PEVA leak proof cooler has an insulated foil lid and assorted adapters to charge iPod, cell phones and cameras. The cooler comes equiped with an audio input jack and cables for an iPod or MP3 player and two amplified speakers.

Top 5 Reasons Why I Like this Product

1.It’s a cooler backpack, which in my mind makes it about 100 times more convenient than anything with a handle. I have a child about to turn one, so a trip to the beach means 3 bags, 2 chairs, various blankets and a small shelter … give me something to strap on my back and I’m a happy camper

2.Solar power. My yard has about 12 oak trees that block the sun (and drop a billion acorns), so I’m fascinated by solar power because I can’t have it at home.

3.It’s so over the top it’s perfect. It’s kind of like the restaurants that sell 100 dollar hamburgers. How great would it have been to be part of this coolers development.

4.It charges all the devices I forget to.

5.The name. Cooladio sounds like Coolio, and who doesn’t love Coolio. A little picnic in a Gangsta’s Paradise.
